Class summary
Students must be open-minded and have a willingness to learn.
One of the most important aspects of shooting competitively that is overlooked by a majority of new and beginner competitors is gun handling skills. You will learn how to reduce times from the draw/index points, stance/grip, work areas, magazine changes, and transitions. This class is hands-on with all aspects of proper dry-fire practice. Being efficient in gun handling skills will reduce your overall stage times.
Class Objectives
Range etiquette at a match, what to expect at your first match, what is “dry fire practice”? Stance/grip/posture, Work area/index points, draw stroke, Magazine changes, Transitions.
Prerequisites
Student must have sturdy belt, outside the waistband holster, 2-3 magazine pouches. Student must have completed Intro to Competing Shooting I, or hold a classification in USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, or PCSL. No exceptions.
Note: This is not a class for defensive training or tactics.
Must have taken the Intro to Competitive Shooting class and be in possession of the ECOUSPSA Safety Card. No exceptions. Students must have a full-size handgun chambered in 9mm (No CCW subcompact handguns allowed), a holster that completely covers the trigger guard, 2 magazine pouches, & 3 magazines.
Level: Beginner All Particpants Must Be Safe In All Aspects Of Gun Handling
Must have taken the Intro to Competitive Shooting class and be in possession of the ECOUSPSA Safety Card. No exceptions.
