Learn the Basics of How to Operate Your Defensive Shotgun
In this course, you will learn how to safely load, shoot and unload your shotgun. We will also cover the basics of shotgun ammunition, chokes and fit. This class includes range time with your shotgun. Shotguns are an excellent tools for use as all-around firearms once you are familiar with their applications and limitations.

- Firearm basic safety and shooting fundamentals
- How to load, shoot and unload your shotgun
- What type of ammo and chokes are available for shotguns
- Basic accessories available for shotguns and nuances of shotgun use
- Range drills to make you comfortable with your shotgun
WHAT WE WILL COVER
- Stance, grip, sight picture
- Trigger pull and follow through with emphasis on recoil management
- Discussion of accessories, the use of a sling, and close-quarters carry techniques
PREREQUISITES
- 18+years old
- Signed CGC Waiver must be completed before class begins
What To Bring:
- Your personal shotgun.
- 25 rounds of slug or buckshot (NO birdshot allowed)
- Any slings or accessories you own for your shotgun
- Eye and Ear protection
- Please bring your unloaded firearm in a case/bag.
