Private Instruction

Private Instruction

Private handgun instruction is available on a one-on-one basis by appointment with one of our staff instructors.  Sessions are 90 minutes in length. You may use your firearm or rent one from our gun rental selection (ammunition must be purchased from the Centennial Gun Club to be used in all rental firearms).  Instruction is intended to help you develop new skills and improve on the skills you may already have.

Topics such as:

  • Proper Grip
  • Proper Stance
  • Sight Alignment
  • Breath Control
  • Trigger Control
  • Strong Hand/Weak Hand Shooting
  • Malfunctions and Clearing

Check with instructor about equipment listed below:

  • Eye protection
  • Hearing protection

For Advanced Training Students will need the Following:

  • Belt (a good, stiff belt is recommended)
  • Hip holster (slots must fit belt properly)
  • Magazine pouch (2 singles or one double)
  • Spare magazines (at least 2 spares – more is better)
  • Handgun (9mm or above required, a full-size gun is recommended)

Centennial Gun Club recommends that a full-size gun be used in our classes for several reasons: Full-size guns provide a better sight radius aiding accuracy, reduce shooter fatigue, and are less likely to have mechanical problems due to the high number of rounds fired in training.  However, this decision is left entirely to the student.
